What You Need To Know

What’s Happening with the Classic Wix Editor?
Wix is gradually rolling out updates across its editor ecosystem. As Wix Harmony becomes the new standard for self-creators, the Classic Editor will still be available for the time being — but new site creation will increasingly favor Harmony.
The Classic Editor isn’t disappearing overnight, but Wix is steering users toward more modern creation platforms.
Can You Still Use the Classic Editor?
Yes — your existing Wix sites built on the Classic Editor continue to work, and you can continue editing them as normal. There’s currently no forced migration or automatic update.
However:
New site creation in Classic will eventually phase out.
No direct migration tools exist yet to move Classic sites into Harmony.
Migration Options (What’s Available)
If you plan to move to a newer platform:
Manual rebuild — the most common approach.
Move to Wix Studio — recommended if you need advanced features and code support.
Automatic migration from Classic to Harmony is not yet supported.
What This Means for Your Workflow:
Keep managing current sites in Classic as usual.
Try Wix Harmony for new projects to take advantage of AI and faster builds.
Consider Wix Studio if you handle custom layouts or work with clients.
Conclusion: Wix Classic Editor Is Rolling Out - Choose What Works Today
The Classic Editor isn’t disappearing overnight, but Wix is steering users toward more modern creation platforms. Whether you stick with Classic or explore Harmony or Studio, there’s a tool built for your needs..
